ABOUT ME

Gwendoline Courreges LPC-A supervised by Jennifer Dougherty PhD, LPC-S

I was raised in Paris, France, by a family deeply immersed in the arts. My grandfather, a profoundly spiritual man, imparted upon me the desire to advocate for those without a voice. Split between France and the USA, my heritage provided me with a rich tapestry of cultural influences.

With a Master's in Mental Health Counseling and a background in linguistics and anthropology, both academic and in the field, I bring a unique blend of expertise to my therapeutic approach. This combination enables me to delve deep into my clients' complexities.

Philosophy plays a central role in my approach, offering fresh perspectives to inform my practice. Through my published works and the development of an innovative ecopsychology course, I strive to embody a commitment to holistic healing and exploration for the benefit of my clients.

Throughout my professional tenure, I have had the privilege of working with inmates at Travis County Correctional Complex, assisting individuals grappling with diverse challenges such as drug abuse, schizophrenia, depression, trauma, and grief. Leveraging my diverse background and genuine approach I have cultivated deep trust, facilitating positive transformations even in challenging environments. By encouraging creative expression and broadening perceptions both individually and in group settings, I aim to foster an environment conducive to personal growth and change.

I am fluent in French and English and my Spanish is conversational.

“By wholeness, I mean varying levels of actualization, an unfolding of the wealth of particularities, that are latent in potentiality.”

-Murray Bookchin
